At the same time, larger people in particular can enjoy a more relaxed sitting position in the Defenders' slightly cocked cockpit - especially in conjunction with our seat rail extensions and sports seats . The steering wheels of the manufacturer RAID have been a synonym for comfortable, sporty driving for decades!

The RAID 1 Steering Wheel established in 1970 the long series of high-quality steering wheels for a variety of vehicles. Made of black leather in a timeless look, the purist steering wheel with its black, perforated struts blends neutrally into numerous historic and modern vehicles.

Supplied with horn button (with RAID logo), demountable impact protection and certificate. The leather cover with Land Rover emblem can be purchased optionally.

Specifications:
Manufacturer: RAID
Surface material: leather, black
Color of the seam: black
Diameter: 36cm Certificate

You will need a steering wheel hub to mount the steering wheel. If you already own a RAID sports steering wheel, you can continue to use its hub. For all Defenders up to model year 2014 and serial number EA999999 (to be found under the position E in their vehicle registration) we will need to know the "spline count" for your current steering wheel (i.e. 36-spline or 48-spline).

Please note:
Leather steering wheels are particularly stressed because they are constantly touched. Leather is a natural product on which traces of use develop over time, such as abrasion, the material becomes brittle or the color changes. As the material is porous, hand sweat and skin fats gradually penetrate the leather. But just hand perspiration and skin fats are particularly aggressive on leather. To protect the steering wheel you can either wear gloves, or maintain this regularly (about every 3 months). Good cleaning and care products can be found in specialist shops.
